What the terms say

The offer above is what we found in the cashier. Punt's written terms supply the rules below, and not one of them reached our account as a live promotion. Default wagering starts at 40x deposit plus bonus. The casino’s example spells out what that means: deposit R30, claim a R30 bonus, and you must stake R2,400 before you can withdraw.

However, not every game counts the same toward that total. Slots, keno, specialty, and table games clear the full amount; roulette and blackjack a quarter, video poker a tenth.

Four house rules attach to every coupon Punt Casino gives out:

Punt Casino operates a comp points scheme with its own dashboard inside the account. Every 100 points converts to R1, and our balance showed zero, so the scheme only pays anyone who plays through a fair amount first. You need 1,000 points before you can cash any in, plus an account balance under R5, no active bonus, and one request per day. Unredeemed points expire after twelve months.

Punt Prestige

Punt Prestige has five levels, and the page shows two. The benefits carousel does not scroll, so VIP Elite at level five and VIP Plus at level four are all any visitor can read. Past those two, a third card clips at the edge of the screen with ticks and crosses mixed down its benefit list. Lower tiers clearly receive less. How much less stays hidden.

Both tiers also promise a personal host, priority payments, tailored promotions, VIP tournaments and higher table limits on request. Entry works by invitation. The casino tells players to keep going until the VIP team notices them, and warns that a drop in activity costs the status again, after a grace period.

Slots dominate to the point where everything else reads as an afterthought. Table players get blackjack in three flavours and one roulette wheel, European only, with no American or French variant anywhere on the site.

The same thinness shows in the rest. Video poker sticks to single-hand play, from Jacks or Better through Loose Deuces, and skips multi-hand versions entirely. Also, the specialty tab has two Plinko titles, keno, a fish shooter, and a few arcade games.

Where Punt does well is the lobby itself. The Themes panel sorts the library into 21 categories with a live count beside each one, so Sci-Fi and Fantasy lead comfortably while Irish barely registers.

Filters go further, with sort options for name, newest, most popular and top jackpots. Useful detail stops there. One High Volatility rail on the main lobby is the only place Punt flags volatility, and no tile shows an RTP figure.

One number does appear, and it comes from the casino's banking pages. They advertise a 98% payout percentage, without a period attached, a game set named, or an auditor behind it. You have to take it on trust.

Third-party reviews step in with a Curaçao licence and two different owners, all in the same breath. Punt confirms neither, so we report those claims as something others assert, not something we verified.

The software is the one thing Punt does document, and it names both the studio and the houses that test it. Disclosure of that kind counts for something, but it answers a different question from who regulates the casino.

Verdict

Punt Casino scores 67/100 in our testing, and most of that comes from disclosure. The site names its software supplier, its testing houses and the exact value of every VIP reward. Few rivals in this market bother with any of it.

Support backs it up. Live chat put a named person on the other end within minutes, and he answered banking questions on the spot.

The score stops where the transparency does. Punt never says who licenses it or who owns it, and a complaint therefore has nowhere to go but back to Punt.

Punt's promotions do the most damage. One offer stood on the page when we tested; the banner above it promised R10,000 against a cashier that pays 150% of one deposit, and the no deposit bonus only reaches players an affiliate sends. Every other meaningful offer is located only in the terms.
